Commodore Talla H'Rhar
Still undecisive about her career choices, she first entered the science path, specialising in xenomolecular biology. During those years at the academy, the Andorian quite enjoyed the mysteries of the sciences, especially pathological science and forensics. During her first year, she entered a science competition with her quadmates, earning them a field trip towards the Vulcan science academy and study there for a few months under a full academy scholarship. There, she was taught the benefits of suppressing her congenital tempers and learned how to enter a suitable meditive state. Thus, she and her quadmates were better able to work themselves through the several months on Vulcan. It is a given that she doesn't trust Vulcans, because of their warring past. However, she has no qualms about working with them professionally.
Her second and third year, Talla spent mostly off-planet, touring the solar system of Sol, working on science projects on both starship and planets in the system. An attack on their party, and the lack of security details present made the young Andorian wonder whether the sciences were the right path for her. Close to her promotion to the fourth year and the rank of cadet-captain, she talked to her career advisor, who convinced her that perhaps she should try a career in tactical and security as it would also mean she didn't need to constantly keep her temper in check.
An incident at the academy, where Talla was involved in a fist-fight with a Human cadet, nearly got her expelled from the academy and convinced her even more that the sciences were not her path. She officially requested a transfer to tactical and was allowed to move provided she took a course in anger management. A formal reprimand went into her record as well as that of the Human.
At age 26, she graduated top of her class which earned her an assignment on the starship Archimede. She climbed steadily through the ranks and met Andorian Commander Shotek, whom she married six months later.
A year later, their son Ayden was born. Through the years, Talla still climbed through the ranks until she made it to first officer of the USS Canberra. Just before Ayeden's fifteenth birthday, disaster struck when the shuttle bringing her mate over to the Canberra was caught in crossfire at a training exercise near the edge of their sector. The shuttlecraft was destroyed and all occupants were killed instantly. Talla grieved for months, and nearly destroyed herself as she became addicted to synthehol as well as alcohol. Through the help of her collegues and professional aid from the ship's counselor, she managed to get her life and that of her son back on track. She swore never to consume synthehol again, and has made true to that promise, showing once again she was a diligent officer. At age 47, she was still first officer of the Canberra, a dutiful officer and mother, when she heard that there was a command position opening on the USS Sarek. Their Vulcan commanding officer was resigning after the death of his bondmate. Talla grabbed the opportunity with both hands and applied for the position through the official channels. Her now son would remain on Earth, where he was training to be a medical officer and trained coroner. Unlike his mother, he preferred corpses over brute firepower.
In 2387, Talla became romantically involved with Chief Intelligence Officer Kentar Chinari.

History
Born in 2428, Talla is typical of Andorian females, fierce and warriorlike. As a child, she always fancied joining starfleet though she could never decide whether she wanted to be a warrior like her mother, or a scientist like her father. Before she reached her teen years, she applied to the Andorian Military Academy, before finally applying for Starfleet academy when she was 18. During her teen years however, she attended an Andorian university, where she graduated top honours in forensic science. She never was a model student, though she always managed to get top marks, and without cheating. She preferred to spend her time outside, on the glaciers of Andor, enjoying the freezing temperatures. As a child, she spent hours on end in the ice-caves, exploring them with the few friends she had.Still undecisive about her career choices, she first entered the science path, specialising in xenomolecular biology.
